The importance of Vedic culture has always been paramount in the global tradition. Sixteen rites are described from the birth of a human being till his death, the completion of which is considered to be the completion of the journey of a human’s life. The above rites have been in practice in all the four yugas, namely Satyayug, Treta, Dwapar and Kaliyug, which include
1. Garbhadhan Sanskar, 2. Punsavan Sanskar, 3. Simantonnayan Sanskar, 4. Jaatkaram Sanskar, 5. Namkaran Sanskar, 6. Nishkraman Sanskar, 7. Annaprasan Sanskar, 8. Choodakarma Sanskar, 9. Karnavedha Sanskar, 10. Vidyarambh Sanskar, 11. Yagyopaveet Sanskar, 12. Vedarambh Sanskar, 13. Keshanth Sanskar, 14. Samavartan Sanskar, 15. Marriage Sanskar, 16. Antyeshti Sanskar/Shraddha Sanskar. All these 16 rites have been called Yagya in the Indian Vedic tradition.
If we believe the religious scriptures, then the life of a human being begins with a yajna and ends with a yajna only. Such an excellent system is only in practice in Sanatan Dharma, which has been approved and described by all the religious gurus of the world according to their knowledge.
The daily routine of an eternal human being begins in the Brahmamuhurta, that is, before sunrise, and according to the daily routine, it begins with hand darshan, earth salutation, defecation, bath, trikal sandhya, sun worship, pranayam, meditation and daily yajna, and then after arranging the work and business, he again goes to sandhya vandan, evening pranayam, meditation and takes rest.
It is said to be mandatory for householders to follow the above-mentioned daily life yagna, but in this modern age, there are very few householders who are able to follow these routines regularly in their lives, because materialistic mindset, haste, unrestrained lifestyle, food habits, conduct, thoughts, behavior, and immoral activities have become the norm.
The result is bitter but is being found with the obvious truth, in Kaliyug, the fixed time limit of life has been reduced from 120 years to 70 years, out of which 35 years will be night, in the remaining 35 years, man has to live his childhood, education, employment, marriage, home, family responsibilities, dissatisfaction with life, unrest, depression, and finally depart from this world after suffering misery by falling ill.
The remedy is very simple “surrender”. If every person makes his life a yagya then his life will start running as per the directions of God and no matter what happens, a single person can enjoy every stage of life, by sacrificing this yagya-like birth in the fire of karma, by avoiding gossip, slander, lies, dishonesty, crime, and see the purpose of God’s great creation of human beings becoming fruitful and meaningful in his life.
By leaving all the misconceptions and superstitions and making one’s life a yagya, giving due respect to Brahmins, daily, week, fortnight, month, quarter, six months, nine months, year on one’s birthday, children’s birthday, wedding anniversary, Teej, festival, special auspicious time, Poornima, Amavasya, including on the special auspicious time of Chauth, Chaturthi, Ekadashi, Trayodashi, by performing Shree Ganesh, Saraswati, Durga, Satyanarayana, Shiva, Navgraha, Pitru Gayatri, and numerous pure Vedic yagnas, havanas etc. in one’s life, one can easily avoid the Navgrahadoshas, short life, unrest, poverty, illness, Pitradoshas, miserable doshas of previous birth.
Here one more caution needs to be taken that any yagna performed with disbelief, hatred, discrimination or with the intention of proving any wrong mentality, jealousy or by imitating others or by competition does not yield good results. Rather such yagna in which vulgar dancing, singing, eating, joking or yagna performed for the sake of show off or earning money, increases the sin in the religious act and gives fatal results for the whole year.
