!! Diwali Puja Story and Worship Method !!
On the Krishna Paksha Tithi of Kartik month, the gentle form of Mahakali is worshipped as Maa Lakshmi, the wife of Lord Vishnu. In Satyug, she ruled the world as Maa Sita and in Dwapar as Maa Rukmani, as Narayan’s wife. And in the same era, she was born as Dharani, the wife of Lord Parashuram.
During Devshayan Kaal, the demons created a ruckus in the three worlds in an attempt to disturb the meditation state of Lord Vishnu. When Indra, along with Indrani, performed Ashwamedha Yagya and along with the demons, moved towards Vaikunth to gain supremacy over the three worlds and Bhuvans, Narad ji called Maa Lakshmi in the ocean, then the ocean’s daughter Lakshmi told the whole story and requested that there is chaos in the world, destruction will happen before God wakes up. Mother Lakshmi Ji put her part in the service of God and pacified the demons by sending a proposal for Samudra Manthan as soon as possible, then Sagar Putri was born in the same churning when the ocean was coming from the churning, all the gods were praying with folded hands. This is why Lakshmi is worshipped on Diwali. According to religious stories, Mother Lakshmi came from Samudra Manthan on the new moon day of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. According to another belief, this day is the birthday of Mother Lakshmi.
Mata Lakshmi was very happy to get Shri Ganesh as an adopted son. Mother Lakshmi gave a boon to Ganeshji that whoever does not worship you along with me, Lakshmi will never stay with him. Therefore, in Diwali worship, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as an adopted son along with Mother Lakshmi.
As per the word of God, Vishnu Ji adopted Mother Lakshmi as his better half. While the gods got Amrit, by drinking which the gods became immortal.
Her parents are Khyati and Bhrigu, they have 18 sons, out of which the names of the main 4 sons are Anand, Kardam, Shrid, Chiklit. She resides on a lotus with Lord Vishnu in the Kshirsagar.
When she is alone and with all her personal feminine glory she is known as Mahalakshmi and is installed in her own temple. When she is associated with Lord Vishnu she is known as Lakshmi or Sri-devi.
